Before becoming an FSC, I was a Guards Officer. I chose to change my career path because I felt that my outspoken and driven nature would suit this challenging industry. After more than 20 years in the business, I received numerous AIA awards such as the Million Dollar Club, Premier Agent Club, and qualified for various overseas conventions. I believe in providing quality advice and transparency to my clients. I can converse in English, Malay and even Mandarin, which is a plus point for me as I do not have any language barriers with my clients. My strengths are in building rapport and long-term relationships, and I am always willing to go the extra mile for the people I serve. I run regularly to keep myself fit and enjoy watching a good game of football with my sons.

I have always aspired to be an entrepreneur, and was introduced to the career of an FSC through an internship opportunity. At the first meeting with my Director and Mentor, Winnie, I knew that this was the golden opportunity for me to pursue my dream to become an entrepreneur. I am grateful to have discovered a job which encompasses my interest and allows me to interact with people, therefore helping me gain confidence. Growing up in a family where there is little awareness about financial planning, I knew the importance of delivering the “right dose of medication” to my family and clients. I love spending time with my loved ones and singing is my favourite leisure activity outside of work.

I was introduced to Win Financial through my cousin who was an agency leader with the team. When I saw the purpose of the career as an FSC, which holds the critical role as a solution provider for clients, I realised I wanted to impact lives through becoming one myself. In the first year of my career, I qualified for the prestigious Million Dollar Club Gold Award. The sense of accomplishment spurred me further to achieve more which in turn, equates to saving more lives. As an FSC, it is our job to understand the needs of our clients and help them make the right decisions. Outside of work, I love playing netball to stay active and healthy.

I was first introduced to this profession by an internship offer. Being an Engineering student, the career path as a Financial Consultant was something that has never crossed my mind. After meeting my Director and Mentor, Winnie, I realised this is a career that could give me a purpose at work. Insurance and financial planning are extremely important in this fast-developing world and I strongly believe that everyone should have proper planning. This belief started when my father suffered a minor stroke and we were unable to afford the medical bills. Nobody should be a liability to others and it is vital that everybody is able to get back on their feet quickly after a fall.

I found my interest in finance during my NS days when I attended investing and trading courses during my free time. I recognize that although investing and trading is not for everyone, all of us need proper financial planning to safeguard our financial future. That was why, when given the opportunity to join an internship with Win Financial, I wasted no time in signing up. I eventually decided to contract with AIA, putting into practice what I have learnt. Although I had to juggle between work and school, I am committed to serving my clients at all points of their lives.
